VENICE | Jiayi Zhou shot even-par 72 in the opening round of LPGA Tour Q-School's Second Stage Thursday to sit in a tie for twelfth place with B.J. Pitzen as her caddie. After round one, 112 players were at 4-over par or better while Yu Liu fired a 4-under par 68 to take the early lead. The top 80 and ties will advance to the third stage in Daytona Beach at LPGA International. Zhou maintained her top-15 position after completing her second round in 3-over 75 to sit at 145 in a tie for 15th place. Yu Liu and Grace Na are tied for first with a 142. 87 players were clear of the cut line, which stood at 8-over 152, after two rounds. Zhou stumbled with a third round 78(+6) on the formidable Panther course to fall into a tie for 50th place. The cut after three rounds sat at 11-over 227. Zhou finished strong with a 73 (+1) on the Bobcat Course to finish at 298(+10), five shots inside the cut-line in which 85 players fired 15-over or better. Amateur Nelly Korda won posting a 4-under 284 after shooting a final round 69 to defeat Grace Na by one shot.
