Pitzen carded two birdies during a first round riddled by a total of 32 putts. Pitzen found 10 out of 14 fairways and hit 11 greens in regulation. Pitzen made only 76 feet of putts in the opening 18 holes. During the second round, Pitzen dropped to 27 putts, nine fairways and 11 greens in regulation. Pitzen raised his putting feet to a tally of 96.5. The early morning fog-delay gave Pitzen an extra 2.5 hours to practice, which has been lacking as of late due to the time constraints at home with his wife and son. Pitzen carded birdies on his opening three out of four holes en route to going out in 33 strokes. Pitzen slid back to 1-under par before playing his 16th hole. Pitzen hit to nine feet on number seven and drained the putt for birdie. Pitzen's drive on number eight hit a speed slot down the left rough and rolled out of bounds by one foot en route to a triple bogey. Pitzen's final hole resulted in a sand save from the short, right greenside bunker en route to a 73.
