LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL | Have you ever had the yips? A great way to battle putting woes is to use the left hand low method (cross-handed) when putting from short distances. Because I've not been able to play in tournaments consistently, I've developed a bad case of the frightening yips.

A thought came to my mind yesterday while playing in the Florida Hospital Golden Gala Pro-Am at Disney's Palm Course to utilize the cross-handed method on short putts.

Today on the Magnolia Course, it made my putting stroke more smooth.

  4. PGA Tour Q-School: Second Stage @ Southern Hills (Brooksville, FL)

    Nov. 15, 2012

BROOKSVILLE, FL | B.J. Pitzen caddied for Niklas Lemke, of Sweden, at the Pete Dye design of Southern Hills Plantation Golf Club in Brooksville, FL on Monday, November 12.

Lemke played the first nine holes at Southern Hills with Pitzen on the bag but decided to fly his friend and former Arizona State golfer Philip Francis out from California that same day to loop for him the rest of the week.

  5. PGA Tour Q-School: First Stage @ Grasslands Golf & Country Club (Lakeland, FL)

    Oct. 18, 2012

LAKELAND, FL | B.J. Pitzen looped (caddied) for Adrien Mork, a tour professional originally from France who resides seasonally in Orlando, FL.

Mork shot 73-74 in the first two rounds at Grasslands Golf & Country Club to total a 3-over par 147. The cut-line at the mid-way point was 6-under par, so Mork needed to fire 15-under for the final two rounds in order to advance safely onto the PGA Tour's Second Stage of qualifying.

  6. Moonlight Golf Tour

    Date: Dec. 6, 2011
Location: Ridgewood Lakes GC (Davenport, FL) (Par=72; Slope=140; C.R.=73.3; Yds.=7016)
    R1 Score POS

Riddled by putting woes and an errant shot on #16 into the left environmentally sensitive area, Pitzen carded 83 and was later disqualified despite calling the tournament rules' officials for a ruling. Pitzen was told that he was not allowed to use the cell phone and that he was to play two balls. How is a person supposed to play two balls when he's in an environmentally sensitive area not knowing whether or not the rules officials allow play from it or not?

  7. Warner University Basketball Scrambles

Location: Lake Wales CC (Lake Wales, FL)

Ray Selent, who also attends Victory Church, has invited me to play in his foursome to benefit Warner University's basketball program.

  8. Caddy: PGA Tour Q-School Stage 2

    Date: Nov. 15, 2011 - Nov. 18, 2011
    Location: Southern Hills (Brooksville, FL)

Argentinian Sebastian Saavedra and I teamed up at the Second Stage of the PGA Tour Q-School. Saavedra missed playing in the Final Stage by a few strokes.

  9. Moonlight Golf Tour

    Date: Nov. 9, 2011
Location: Red Tail GC (Sorrento, FL) (Yards: 7152; C.R.:75.1; Slope: 141; Par:72)
    R1 Score POS

Playing in a Moonlight event for the fourth time in 2011 was alright. I was disappointed to play behind a threesome being in a group of just myself and Lloyd Campbell, who shot 72. The cut came at even par and I made two birdies during the round. Three bogeys and a double on No. 9 killed the momentum heading into the back nine. Besides for two untimely swings in which I finished too early and did not clear my hips in time, I was happy with the iron game today. Overall though, pros that putt for pars are like dogs that chase cars. In other words, neither last too long.

  10. Nationwide Tour Winn Dixie Monday Qualifier

    Date: Oct. 17, 2011
Location: Cimarrone GC (Par:72; Course Rating: 73.5; Slope: 137 )
    R1 Score POS

JACKSONVILLE, Florida | Cimarrone Golf Club offers a medium test for tour pros to go low. While spending time at my sister's place in Ponte Vedra, I'd often frequent the links at Cimarrone. Unfortunately, I found myself with 15 clubs in the bag after a tremendous start after going three under in my first three holes. I noticed the extra club (a 3-iron) in my bag on my third hole of the day (the par-5, No. 12).
